Sarah recently celebrated her 5th birthday at Cream. What a long way she’s come! Our Business Recruitment queen has seen a lot happen in the company over the years. To mark the occasion, we asked her a few questions about her role at Cream, her memories, but also the years to come.

How has your role evolved over the years at Cream, and what have been the most significant changes in your responsibilities?

As a Business Recruiter, you are in charge of the most strategic clients of the company. So you already have important responsibilities from the start. As a curious person, I also decided to explore other growth possibilities and helped the company develop with unexpected clients. This was a great opportunity for consultants to get projects in a sector they wouldn’t have imagined.
After a few years, I had the chance to create a team and become a Manager, sharing my expertise with them. The challenge has since then been completely different: I had to learn how to teach my daily job to people with different habits, different ways of thinking and working, and accept that this will not interfere with their success.  Becoming a Coach & Manager brought me new skills: managing a team, accompanying people in being the best version of themselves, and evolve by their side.

What contribution or accomplishment are your most proud of so far?

Sharing my knowledge with others is the contribution I’m most proud of. One of the best feelings is to see one’s method improved, adapted to the person being taught and shared with others.

How has Cream supported your career development over the last five years?

Cream has always been honest and transparent regarding my career development. Gaining responsibilities reflects your results, your commitment and your attitude : One can’t go without another. Developing my skills in this sector meant being consistent, resilient and strong enough to accept that learning is a long path which never ends. Cream has helped me to improve both my hard and soft skills, and has provided me tools and tips to become successful.

What advice would you give to newer Creamers looking to sustainably thrive in their roles?

Accepting that nothing is perfect and things won’t always happen as you planned, but everything will work out in the end. It is kind of cliché but it is a true fact we need to constantly remind ourselves if we want to thrive in our role. The key is also to keep in mind who you want to become and keep working on it to achieve your goals. Even if you remain the one responsible for your personal growth, Cream will give you the keys you need to succeed.

Can you share a favourite team memory or moment that stands ou to you?

How to forget “Le Fou Chantant”? A mix of joy, shared moments, broken voices, and a lot of fun! But if we focus on a more formal moment: reach – and even go beyond – our objectives with the Business Recruitment team was quite memorable.
