Corporate Social Responsability @Sibelga

Sibelga is the only distribution network operator for electricity and natural gas in the 19 municipalities of the Brussels Capital Region. Cream Consulting had developed a partnership with Sibelga since 2017.

Besides its technical projects, Sibelga is about to redefine its strategy, its values and its positioning. The moment was opportune to embark on this approach of Corporate Social Responsibility.

Why to implement a CSR strategy at Sibelga?

First, the CSR approach, based on the concept of general interest and shared value, is the logical continuation of their public service missions, to facilitate the energy transition and to serve the Brussels citizens. Secondly, it contributes to the “decompartmentalization” (to cut across the silos) at Sibelga, CSR being by definition a cross-cutting matter. Finally, integrating CSR into Sibelga’s strategy helps to raise awareness and federate all of its stakeholders on good practices.

It is in this context that our consultant joined Sibelga in the communication department. Cream supports a new Corporate Social Responsibility reorganization at Sibelga by designing a new communication and action plan to better serve Brussels citizens.

What were her first tasks?

  • To validate, put into practice and establish an evaluation of the strategic framework. In other words, to ensure that the information remains fair and adapted to the CSR topics and that it is received and understood adequately by Sibelga employees.
  • To establish a governance structure to monitor and communicate CSR performance. CSR governance allows to outline initiatives related to CSR, while making the procedures clearer and more efficient by defining and assigning roles and responsibilities.
  • To implement an internal and external communication plan linked to CSR.

Today, Cream supported the project specifically on internal and external communication, CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility), and employer branding by creatively proposing new solutions and practices.
